From a small cart he used to roam Cairo’s streets, Abou Tarek expanded into a large four-story restaurant in Egypt. Koshary Abou Tarek quickly gained the admiration of many, leading to its expansion and the opening of branches in different cities, including Dubai.
The chef dons his gloves and secures his cooking attire tightly, preparing to make a popular Egyptian dish, with his unique touch that relies on preparing the ingredients fresh every hour and a half, ensuring the dish is served hot and fresh.
In a statement by the CEO of the “Raghayeb” Group, which holds the rights to the Koshary Abou Tarek brand, Bassem Mubarak said: “Dubai is a melting pot of many nationalities, and our goal is to promote the Koshary dish, which originally belongs to Abou Tarek.”
Many nationalities visit the Koshary Abou Tarek restaurant, which was established in Dubai in 2017. These include residents of Indian, Filipino, Russian, and other Arab nationalities, along with Emiratis and visitors from various Arab countries.
